Philippine Farm Workers

Seasonal farm or agricultural workers significantly contribute to the country's yearly agricultural production growth, food security, and self-sufficiency. Yet they remain among the poorest sectors of society. However, the absence of primary sources of data that profiles the actual conditions of the farm workers makes it very difficult to provide concrete policy mechanisms that could help protect the rights and welfare of the farm workers. The lack of reliable data on farm workers prompted CSI to conduct a survey that could provide a profile of farm workers and show a better picture of the situation they face.
